Amid the global pandemic, new Liberian women have taken on pivotal roles in raising awareness about the dangers of the coronavirus, tirelessly working within their communities to disseminate accurate information on preventive measures, such as wearing masks, practicing social distancing, and maintaining hand hygiene, to safeguard the health of their families and neighbors.
Through grassroots campaigns, social media platforms, and local outreach programs, these women have become trusted voices in the fight against misinformation, educating others on the importance of vaccination, promoting COVID-19 safety guidelines, and encouraging communities to stay vigilant and follow public health protocols to reduce the spread of the virus.
New Liberian women, many of whom are involved in healthcare or community leadership, have used their platforms to address the unique challenges posed by the pandemic, such as the economic hardships families face, the strain on mental health, and the disruption to education, while offering solutions and support to help children and families navigate this unprecedented time..
As frontline workers in various sectors, including healthcare, education, and business, Liberian women have shown incredible resilience, ensuring that their communities remain informed and protected, distributing essential supplies like face masks and hand sanitizers, while also supporting families who struggle with the economic impact of COVID-19 through food drives and other forms of assistance.
